This place is the best in the city. I've used them 4 times now and every single time they do the best job for the best price. Every time some worthless homeless drunken fiending piece of garbage breaks my window to steal nothing out of my car these guys come to the rescue quickly and effectively and they even vacuum the glass out of my car. They are awesome. Don't bother looking for a better price in San Francisco because these guys will always be the most affordable. Because of this I strongly recommend that you tip the guy who fixes your window because if anybody deserves it he does. I can't say enough good things about this place. I'm very grateful to these guys because everyone else in the city it's jacked up their prices due to the High Cost of Living and these guys have kept their prices affordable for those of us struggling to stay out of the red in this overpriced Metropolis. To all the worthless homeless turds who break car windows because they have a habit let me just remind you that you are where you are because you burned all your bridges and now not even your family will help you. It will never get better for you until you stop doing damage to everyone's life you come into contact with. In most of your cases you might as well just kill yourselves because really the truth is that you've done way too much damage to ever come back from to your life and the lives of anybody unfortunate enough to come into contact with you so do us all a favor and overdose as soon as you can, stop defecating and leaving syringes in the street (& breaking car windows anytime you think you see something you sell on 7th and Market.)To everyone else I want to remind you that the people pathetic enough to beg for change are usually the exact same people who have no problem breaking your window if they think they see something they can sell. It's not that I'm not sympathetic to the needy. I just hate thieves. We all make choices in life. I say only help those with the desire to help themselves. We all struggle at one time or another but that doesn't turn us into thieves unless we have no self respect or principles.

I'm sorry I got a little off the subject but my point is this: if someone breaks your car window take it to these guys and they will fix it for you quickly and affordably. They work hard and deserve your business. I also suggest that you tip them because their prices are better than anybody else's in the city. That's it I'm done goodbye.

Highly recommend. These guys replaced my car window with no appointment, in under an hour, on a Sunday for only $150. It's a no-frills place but the guys were helpful, courteous and polite.

Low key glass shop, had the cheapest prices from everyone I called. Even offered a used piece of glass for half the price of a new one.

  • *****

Great auto glass people. They take you same day without an appointment. Quality glass. Half the price of other quotes. Waited about an hour to replace the window. Good taco place right next door. It's a total win win. Thanks California Auto Glass and Pat's Garage for recommending them.

i had my window broken last month, called so many places and they gave me the best price, the shop might look a bit fishy but this place is legit. Quick service, unbeatable pricing, friendly. highly recommended !

They were very helpful, fixed my window in a couple hours and were nice and knowledgeable. Happy to support this small business, they deserve a better shop!

Walked out to my car and what surprise should await me, but a SMASHED passenger side window, and all my stuff in the glove compartment rifled through. I had nothing showing, and nothing was taken. Ah the joys of city life. Last month I got towed and this month I got smashed.

Anyhoo, had to run off to work so I moved my car to a secure spot and proceeded to call 5 glass repair shops. Prices ranged from $100 to over $250. Searched yelp talk boards, and saw a rec for California Auto Glass, which also happened to be the cheapest. Called them, made an appt for later in the day, convinced Wayne to come with me, and off I went.

They don't really have a shop per se...since they work out of the self-serve car wash in outer mission? (i have no idea) but you can identify them by the white van that says California Auto Glass on it. It's a little shady, but it's run by a really friendly and sweet family. The son fetches tools for his dad and the mom cleans up all the glass and handles the payment. If you pay by credit card, you'll have to pay an extra fee. Also, they offer a guarantee on the parts and warranty on labor. In the end, I actually trust them, since you watch the whole process. Most places, you have no idea how they are treating your car. It might not be the best place to go, but for a good job at a great price, I'm happy.

Although I thought it would be nice to get my window fixed by a small family business I didn't actually get my glass replaced by this company.

As a plus to their business, I had called around to many shops and they gave me the lowest price out of all of them. Personally, I felt a bit intimidated by getting the work done in a car wash parking lot. Maybe they can travel to you- I would like that better :)

My car was broken into last week. I was going to get it fixed for $160 and thought it was cheap. Then my boyfriend found an ad in the Advertiser for California Auto Glass and told me about it. So we called and it was only 125! Right away we went by and my window was fixed in 25-30 minutes. Another good thing is that there is a five year warranty on the window. He was a very nice man and only charged us 118 total and we got a free taco and soda while we waited.

I've had windows replaced here twice. When you live in San Francisco stuff can happen... Luis does a great job, guarantees the work, and does it cheaper than other shops. I'm kind of anal about getting the best deal so I called around both times (three years apart).

The location is a little off the beaten track and unusual, to say the least. You'll find a car wash, a car stereo/glass tinting shop, a taqueiria, a cab company office, and Luis's auto glass shop all located on the premises. It's worth traveling here though. You'll be well taken care of and save a bundle.

I have to admit it is a little odd to get your window repaired in a parking lot. However, I have been using the car wash there for years and know it's legit. In any case they charged me only $100 (out the door) including parts, labor and tax. They not only cleaned up the broken glass but they even washed the outside of my car! The whole thing took them about an hour. Highly recommended.

Also you can have a great taco in the balazo taqueria next door while you wait.

I needed my windshield replaced and contacted an auto shop named J&M Body Shop first. They recommended me to California Auto Glass. The business is located next to a car wash and seems to be run out of a van. And, it's not exactly a pretty neighborhood. Luis did a great job and was very nice. I was told that if I used a credit card there would be a $5 surcharge. However, when it came time to pay, Lucy didn't charge me anything extra for using my plastic. The price was good and I recommend this off the beaten track auto glass replacement service.

I needed my back window replaced on my car after being robbed. I heard about this place through Yelp, but once I got there, I realized that I've actually washed my car a couple of times in this lot (good priced self-car wash, by the way). So, this is a one-stop-shop for cars. You can get tinting, detailing, wash and vacuum your car, get your windows replaced AND eat a taco. Not bad.

Anyway, it might be important to point out that I am a fairly young, petite white girl, and I had no problems here (some other people have used the word "shady," but I didn't feel that way). The woman at the glass place was really nice and helpful, and quoted me $85 for a dealer-brand window. I also got a quote for a new windshield because mine had a crack in it, and she quoted me $140, and they could do both in an hour and a half. DEAL! I walked over to 24th street, hung out at a cafe, then came back and it was done. Nice job, and so far (two days) no complaints. I'll update if my windshield falls off.

  • *****

I would recommend this place to anyone. They are fast, efficient and cheap. I came in with my passenger side window broken, and quoted $70 less than where my insurance company recommended me to.

  • *****

This place was $25 cheaper than any of the other 9 places I called. My driver's side door window broke (third window break since January). After I dropped off the car, they gave me a ride home, fixed the window, offered a free solution to a very bizarre problem I was having, and then dropped the car off when they were done. All in just a few hours. Definitely the kind of people you want to support! I'm going back in tomorrow to have them fix (for free) an ongoing problem that's causing the broken windows.

  • *****

They got my business because of good yelp reviews and a MUCH cheaper quote than others I had gotten to have my windshield replaced. I was quoted $140 on the phone - tax and everything included and was told no extra charge for using a credit card. Other quotes that I had gotten were $280+. I ate lunch at the taqueria (only open until 3pm btw) while I waited. My windshield was replaced within an hour. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star rating is that it turns out that tax *wasn't* part of the $140 quote and there was a $5 charge for using my credit card. I wound up paying cash. ($150) The job seems to be well done. Will update this review if there are problems, but for now, I am a happy camper with a new windshield and more $$ in my pocket than if I went elsewhere.

Had great success with this place. I went to my car Monday morning and my driver's side passenger window (the triangular vent window) had been broken. FML. I searched Yelp for good auto glass places and California Auto Glass came up. I called around and they were the best price by far!! $70 compared to $253 at the Honda dealership (and the dealership would have to order the window, 1+ day).

The service was quick and friendly. Granted it wasn't the OEM Honda glass but whatever. It was a great deal. Highly recommend this place!

  • *****

yep, got my car broken into. yek.

i needed cheap, and i needed fast. i rolled up to this place, looked a little shady since i think theyre storage spot is a van next to the car wash.

the phone number i called is a cell phone, and she had to call in my credit card because they didnt have a machine,.

    OH WELL.

they helped me out quick and easy, vacuumed all the glass out of my seat, and even gave me free ice cream.

    why the hell not.

    thanks!

  • *****

went there and had the window one place quoted like $140 bucks this one gave me a deal for $85, also fixed my mirror for free! highly reccomened nicest people! a+++

I checked 3 other ads in the SF Advertiser. I needed a GPS to find the
place. Best to go North 101 and take the Cesar Chavez/Army Exit (its on your right). The owner and family takes pride in their work. I had the front windshield replaced for a $ 140. He reject the first glass (cuz there was a scratch on the 1st delivered windshield. He being doing this for 20+ years and his workmanship shows. He made it look so easy to replace. They even vacuum your car in the process.

    Highly recommended ...

Found this place on Yelp and was so thankful! My car was broken into (again) and the drivers side door smashed to smithereens. I am on a budget and wanted to find a place that would do a fast, good job for a fair price. California Auto Glass was great! Yes - the location isn't perfect, but I assume that's why they can keep their prices so low. For the glass and installation they quoted me less than anywhere I called for the glass ONLY (including salvage yards). They weren't at all hard to find as they have a lot of signage out and I don't think the place seemed all that sketchy (and I'm a young blonde girl). They were able to get me in right away, were super friendly and did a great job for a wicked low price. What else can you ask for? Plus - they have adorable pet parakeets to keep you company outside. :) And yes, you can also wash your car and get a burrito all at the same place.

  • *****

Like everyone else, I also called four other places and got the lowest quote here by a good margin. While I had some reservations, I ended up going there because they were the cheapest. The location does seem sketchy, but they did a great job and finished in less than 50 minutes. The people are friendly and efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to use them if I never need to again (hope not).

  • *****

AMAZING Customer service. I was in and out in 30 minutes!! And as others said this was the lowest quote I received in the city to fix my broken window. I am glad I didn't have to pay a fortune after having my valuables replaced by a Dr. Pepper.

Unfortunately the burrito shop was closed when I went, bu the manager took me upstairs and offered me anything I wanted from the snack closet. He even tried to give me my tip back. They even cleaned the excess glass still in my car!

The location is not at all shady, and very busy as lots of people were washing their cars. I would definitely go again... although I hope I don't have to!!!

I needed my window replaced so I decided to head down to the warehouse area down by the Cesar Chavez. I randomly found this place as I was driving by and decided to pull in. It's definitely a random location, in a self serve car wash lot. The lady working here is super nice and they work fast and efficient. Best to call ahead of time so they can order the glass for your vehicle and have it ready to install upon your arrival, otherwise, if they don't have that window in stock, takes about 45 minutes to have the glass delivered, and maybe another 45 minutes to install it. They have a mifi router you can connect to to get on the internet. It's a friendly little family operation and their prices are pretty competitive. Also I had glass all over the inside of my car and they vacuumed up most of it and even cleaned my other windows. The only thing concern I had was looking through the edges of the new glass, where it curves, things look a bit distorted. I'd imagine its due to the low quality of the glass itself. Might not have made a difference on a flat pice of glass, but maybe when it curves those low cost antics can get noticed. Something to keep in mind if you have a curved rear window, as is common with Honda's. Maybe they can order a better quality piece of glass. I was never asked, I think they assume you want the cheapest thing possible. Aside from the low material quality, the workmanship and customer experience was great. Also they do accept credit cards.

Great price, easy, fast, convenient, honest. Simple. And burritos.

    Pros:
-Quote over the phone was cheapest in SF by close to 50% and they held to their estimate.
-You go to them - if you've done autoglass in the past, usually they have to come to you. This is great if you have time, but if you can't be in one place predictably then it's very inconvenient. So this was a great plus in my book.
-Fast - in/out in 20 min. Not even enough time to finish my breakfast burrito.
-Burritos - or tacos, etc at the taco stand in the corner.
-As far as I can tell, great work! Louis told me to come back if there were any problems (there have been none - going on 3 weeks). And yes they vaccum out the broken glass in your car.

I have a pretty basic car - 2005 toyota - and if you have a more highend make/model I'm not sure this is the place for you. It might be, but I don't know about factory spec glass. But otherwise if you park on the street in the city and go through windows faster than shoes, this is an excellent place to know about! Although I hope I am not, I will be back if I ever need a window again.

  • *****

Amazing customer service! My windshield was replaced in a reasonable time; an hour to be exact!

For 1 year I drove around with a cracked windshield. I read the review here on Yelp and went to the car-wash at the 101 entrance on Bay shore Blvd. I got my new windshield at 150.00 and it was done in 30 minutes. Because I grew up in the Mission I always support local businesses and this is a family business. For people have have a 500.00 DEDUCTIBLE and has to pay out cash for a repair......DON'T PLAY to this family business and get it done.

The joys of living in San Francisco, and thus - the inevitable broken car window.

I went to move my car late the other night and found a passenger window shattered, only held together by the tint and with what looked like a bullet hole. Luckily, nothing was missing from my car. So now what? I drove around for almost three days with nothing guarding my car from the world outside.

To be honest, I am very lazy when it comes to researching deals. From a past experience, I knew that replacing the window shouldn't be any more than $200 so I called around to a few shops. Many were closed but luckily out of the few that were, I found this place.

When you get there, it looks kinda sketchy, as you'll see they operate out of a car wash stall. But nbd.
Fast quote, super cheap, great replacement work, and they even vacuumed the inside of my car for me a little! Oh, and did I mention it took them less than 25 minutes to do it?

    STOKED.
    Go to these guys.

They came to my house fixed windshield easy and great. I have also had glass fixed at their location at the Taqueria Car Wash which was totally fine too.

So one of the wonderful things about living in the city.... Broken windows!! =[ my car got broken into and everything down to my rosary and gum was taken so I was needing to find a place to fix my window ASAP. We found CAG after calling a few other places that started their quotes at $125 so when CAG said $95 and they could take me anytime, I got there right away. They were friendly, respectful, stayed true to the price they quoted me and I was in and out within an hour. Now when I first pulled up I was immediately unsure because It is in the parking lot of a carwash and looked pretty ghetto but a few seconds later I was reassured everything was going to be just fine :) also included is a warranty that most other places didn't offer.... I will for sure go back if I ever have another broken window

  • *****

When someone decided car mirrors were a beautiful thing for breaking, I turned to Yelp for some quick info and found this place. These guys had a look, ordered the mirror, and I returned the next morning. After only 10 minutes, the mirror was restored, and the cost was only $35!!! I'll definitely be back to see these guys for random repairs!! These guys are fast, cheap, and efficient!!

  • *****

I got a reference from a friend who'd been here and decided to check the yelp. The ratings from people were great, and I actually found a few other friends' reviews as well, which gave me confidence that this was the place to go.

I called and got a quote of $110. Showed up and they recognized the truck by the description I gave, which was immediately impressive.

The gentleman I spoke with walked me up to their small office are and set me up with their wifi so I could pass the time. About 40-45 minutes later they were completely done and I was on my way.

Absolutely amazing experience with these guys. If anyone has a broken window issue I will be referring them to here without hesitation.

  • *****

There are few things more miserable than having your car broken into. Luckily, companies like, California Auto Glass, make the damage slightly less painful. $65 for a driver-side, rear-vent window. Took less than 30 minutes to get fixed.

Sure their operation seems a little sketchy, as they essentially work in a parking lot, but don't let that deter you. Excellent work, quick, and cheap.

  • *****

Second time I had to come here and both times i received outstanding service. dont let the appearance or location fool you...its a top notch facility ran by very competent and kind folk...i was in an out in less than an hour with a brand new windshield...and they offered me water and coffee and a tamale...what??? a tamale??? yes, a tamale, homemade...which i knidly declined...(not much of a breakfast guy) however, they brought it to me anyways and it was delicious...great service, great price, great time and bomb ass tamales...check em out!!!

  • *****

California Auto Glass fixed my passenger side window for only $35 when other companies were quoting me with prices between $60-70. These guys do great work, at a great price and take care of their customers.

I highly recommend using these guys for any of your auto glass repair needs.

  • *****

Dear California Auto Glass, I have had to visit your lovely establishment more than I would like. I live in San Francisco though, where broken windows and crackheads are a part of life, as ubiquitous as trees in Vermont.

California Auto Glass is located right off of Bayshore, near the fast food drive thru alley of SF. The location is a bit hard to find as it is located in the corner of a car wash.

Seriously though! This location is a car wash/taqueria/window repair place. You reallllly can't beat that in terms of convenience.

So after my umpteenth broken window, I decided to look around in SF to get my tinted car window repaired instead of having the "come to your place" window repair men come to my place for 250+. I checked yelp and found the reviews for this place and decided to check it out.

Yelp, you did not steer me wrong!

I've had my tinted passenger side rear window fixed for $150, 100 cheaper than all my previous repairs. In addition, I've just gone to California Auto Glass, they quote me a price on the glass, I agree, and they fix the car window right then and there with no appointment in under an hour. In addition, the repair guy even vacuums the inside of your car on the side where the window was broken to get rid of the broken glass.

The repairmen and the woman who handles the financial transactions have always been quick, courteous, and efficient. Not everyone speaks English that well, however that fact has never had a negative impact on my experience with the people here or the quality of the work they have done.

So for $170 and one hour of my time, I can get my car window fixed here, tip the repair guy, eat some BOMB chilaquiles verdes from the taqueria, and wash my car.

I luvsssss you California Auto Glass!

P.S As others have mentioned the set up/location looks a bit shady. I have not had one problem with the quality of the work done here and I have not had one problem with any persons located in the taqueria/car wash/car window repair.

  • *****

Got my windshield and a side window replaced here. They were fast, all the staff is very friendly and they're prices are way lower than anywhere else I've found. This is the only place I'll go for replacing glass on my car :)

  • *****

    Cons:
-It's kinda of a rugged looking store front.
    -Sketchy ass hood.

    PROS:
    -$100 cheaper than other places
-I was in & out in 30 minutes
    -Family owned and run
    -Good ass tacos next door.
    -Staff was friendly and prompt.

  • *****

Best prices, great service. "Free Tamales, if we have some"
    What more do you need?!
I remember when these guys were working out of a van in the corner of the car wash, they've expanded into a whole wash bay. No, it's nothing fancy, it's cheap, it's friendly, and it's efficient - I like it!

    PS. the tamales, were delish!

  • *****

fast service, cheap, friendly, what more could you want.

  • *****

Got my window smashed and a friend told me about this place. Looks super sketch, but solid work.

Cheap, available, fast, and solid work. Wasn't sure if I could trust them with my Chevy Volt, but they took care of me and the best part is I hopped two booths over afterwards and got my rear windows tinted, then detailed my car. All under the price of what my insurance wanted for to fix it.

    Comes well recommended.

  • *****

The employees were so helpful when my car was broken into... They gave me an awesome deal and were so friendly and accommodating. Best prices. Best staff! Highly recommended.

  • *****

Affordable, fast, good work! My car was broken into and these guys were able to get the glass, install, and then send to the tint guy in the same lot for less than the nearest quote for glass alone. I would definitely recommend them!

  • *****

i have give them five star both on the price and service ,, i bring my 2003 Nissan Xterra in for the first time.. location is not an eye catching place , inside of car wash place.. but the service i get is remarkably great , i am surprise how quick they done my windshield and my quarter glass in 30min or so ,, the installer done extremely detail and clean job on my vehicle ,,i am very happy with the service ,, i give him some tips too .. absolutely i would return to them if i have future need ..

  • *****

Someone smashed in our side view mirror one night. I went here immediately and they gave me a great price. I know it depends on the car but it was still a great price considering my car is considered "luxury" (Saab). They were very friendly, extremely courteous and were very fast. We didn't waist anytime on little details and I really appreciated that. I highly recommend this place.

  • *****

They came to my office the same day for $150 cheaper than their competitors. They charge a very reasonable extra $20 to do on site installations.

Very nice folks, I recommend them.

  • *****

Great Prices, Fast, Courteous and Efficient. .. The owner keep coming to the waiting room giving me an update on whats being done.. Very helpful!! I recommend this place to anyone..

Car window broken by a smash and dash thief? California Auto Glass is your salvation! I've had it happen a number of times in San Francisco over the past few years, and each time I've gotten great, fast service (while I waited) at a very low price, including complete cleanup of the broken glass. Quality replacement glass. Waiting room with free coffee, tea, and water. Don't be put off by how it looks (low rent district, behind self-service cat wash, nothing fancy) - they do many luxury cars. Honesty? They returned $20 to me that had fallen under a car seat. Can't get there easily? They will come to you. Highest recommendation!

11/2013: $140 to replace rear window on Chevy Cruze. 30 mins flat.

  • *****

Once again, California auto glass came through for me. Cheapest quote and the best tamales in the city while you wait. For free! Love these guys.

  • *****

These guys just repaired my car window, they are very good & provide a speedy service, would definitely recommend them!

  • *****

Love this place. Had a crack in the windshield of my Ford van and they had a new one in 2hours. It would have taken less time by there was a lot of rust and rot in the frame which they took care of at no extra charge and installed a better rear view mirror than the scratched up one that was in there. Only 165 bux and I got a free hot tamale!

  • *****

2nd time here, they are fast, efficient, friendly & affordable.

Can drop in, and they typically finish up within an hour.

    They also vacuumed inside.

    Highly recommended!

  • *****

This is a great family business that provides excellent service at a low price. They're always happy to go the extra mile to make the customer happy.

The last time I came here, I was quoted a good price to fix the problem. Once they started working on it, though, the problem turned out to be much more complicated than they had originally thought and it required them to do a lot more work. Did they charge me a dime more as a result of all their extra time and labor? No, sir, they did not. And they served me a delicious tamale while I was waiting! All that's missing here is a foot massage service.

  • *****

Over phone estimate was $245 for a TC back window. Cheapest I can get. Went there waited about 30mins and the job took about 45 mins. I was happy to have been offered a used TC window that had tint already for $170! I was so so so happy. The young gentlemen were comforting and very gracious. Don't be weirded out by the location, there is a mexican resaurant in that plaza/lot car wash and plenty of vacuums.

  • *****

Great, reliable, cheap, quick service with a smile and no hassles. Best auto glass place I've ever used!

  • *****

The location may not look so good, but the service, price and quality of the work was A1. They quoted me half the price I received from other shops. I jumped on it right away. When I got there, I was told the window would be completed in 1 hour. But they got it completed in only 30 minutes. I was really surprised!!! You're not going to get anything better than this!

  • *****

I must say, I was very surprised with how well they treated me and how great they left my car. I got in and out in an hour, they offered me water. They charge $5 if I pay with debit card and since there was no ATM near I told them I was going to go find my bank that was 30mins walk. They were so genuine to not charge me the extra fee because they didn't want me to walk synch a long way. How amazing are they? Also I saw how they installed the mirror and they checked everything before giving me the car back and they vacuum as well. Super
Affordable, other places were charging me $200 and this place only charged me $150 and they did an amazing job!

  • *****

After being victim to numerous break-ins, California Auto Glass has always come to my rescue. They have the BEST price in SF and always do great work.

  • *****

Quick service, lowest prices in town. Got my Prius windows replaced here. During the 2 hour wait I walked over to Precita Park Cafe - it's about a 10-minute walk (you have to go under the freeway and walk through an area with homeless people living under the freeway). You can have a beer there to drown your sorrow of having your car broken into.

  • *****

Second time I have come here, my family have come here and it's always affordable friendly service. They even vaccum up your car; they really take care of you here. Professional, fast, friendly and affordable.

  • *****

This place is great! Very professional, hard working people and their prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend this place-and they give you tamales!!!!

  • *****

I called fifteen minutes before arriving. I was welcomed kindly and attended to promptly. This place is awesome. They provided me with something to drink while I waited and even offered me lunch. Friendly, quick, and cheap.

These guys have always taken care of me, from broken windows to other minor door/window issues without an appointment and typically within one hour. If you want to save yourself some time and money, this is the place to go. They even honor insurance deductibles. Anyone that has lived in San Francisco knows that windows get broken downtown on a regular basis. For quick and satisfactory service, go give these guys at California Auto Glass a try.

In and out in 25 minutes. At $155 ($5 charge for CC/Debit), that's half the price most places were charging me.

My almost new car was broken into on Treat street today. Frazzled and sad, I called California Auto Glass after they were recommended to me by USAA. I was able to drive directly there from the scene of the crime and be taken care of right away. They were super friendly, offered coffee tea and even tamales in a waiting room with a tv upstairs. They finished in about 30 minutes and even cleaned up the glass in the car for me. Great service. Since they worked directly with my insurance company for payment, I didn't pay anything upfront and can't speak to costs.

I called couple places for quote on my CR-V rear window glass replacement. Honda dealership charges $400-600, California auto glass quoted me $125. I took my car to them without cleaning up the broken glass (vandalism). The wait time is 1.5 hours. There is a waiting room upstairs but I am not sure if that is for customers because of all the files and records.

The person started out with vacuuming all the broken glass. It took him over an hour to replace the glass window.

    Pros:
    - Surprisingly low price compare to other places. Of course it is not Honda part but you cannot tell the difference with the same level of tint
    - Exceptional service- vacuum all the broken glass before and after the repair... not just routine cleaning. He tried to get all the pieces inside the door and took out the floor mats to get all the small pieces on the carpet and car seats. While waiting for my car to be ready, I noticed another repair person handed out several bottled water to a Hispanic customer with kids in the car (no charge)
    - Professional - prior to the repair, the female owner came to check on my car and pointed out a small damage on the plastic caused by the break in. It is a good practice to avoid any dispute afterward

    Cons:
    - I asked if they accept credit card and the person said yes. However, when I paid with credit card, he notified me there is a $5 fee. Given the low profit margin, it is fair for them to charge the credit card fee because they have to pay that to the credit card company. However, I would preferred to be informed ahead of time in case if I decide to walk to the nearby ATM while waiting for my car.

Overall, I am very happy with their service and charge. However, I don't want to be their regular customer ; )

ASK FOR JOSE. despite the hood like location. The quality of work and material used is just as good as what you would get at any other one of these auto window replacement companies in San Francisco that charges an arm and a leg. For my windshield, 2006 jeep commander my insurance was going to charge me $1000 deductible... i called around SF and the average would cost me $200-400. Here, I paid $180 (labor, installation materials, and tax). Calling around and reading reviews saved me gas money / lunch for a week ;p.

My car was broken into on a Monday night and I needed my rear door window fixed ASAP. I really did my research calling almost 20 different locations. My initial quote from my insurance company told me that the average price was $274 for my repair. I called around price matching, even calling my insurance company's recommended repair shop who quoted me at $344, which was obviously too high. After calling more repair shops, the best average price hovered around $175. I called several more places and feel fortunate that I found California Auto Glass, they quoted me at a very low price of $135.

Upon my arrival, the staff was very welcoming offering me water, tea, coffee, snacks and even tamales. Their waiting room was also equipped with cable and free wifi. Since they anticipated me, they were ready with the glass window already out. The service was really fast having only to wait less than an hour.

I definitely recommend coming here if you are looking to save money on a repair. Go ahead and ask around for a lower price, you definitely won't find anyone cheaper. Despite the overall look of this facility, saving money on a repair and customer service goes a long way. Also, If you want to save $5 from the credit/debit fee, bring cash.

$125 to replace a broken window -- hard to beat that price. And the people are really nice here. It looked like a family business, and I saw a couple of the family children in the waiting room, and some of the inventory areas seemed like they were hand-built, and the signs looked like they were all hand-made. The family obviously work very hard here, and it shows. My window looks fantastic, it was a quick job and it's one of the few auto glass repair shops open on the weekends. I'd come back here to support this place for sure.

Needed to replace a cracked windshield on my Volvo S60 on Saturday, July 4th. I called several places, most were closed for the holiday. I drove down Bayshore Blvd but all the Auto Glass places were closed. I drove by to find these guys open. CAG quoted me $170, but alas they did not have the particular one in stock. Since I had to wait until Monday, I called a few more places. The quotes I got were, $240, $220 and $285. Based on all the positive reviews on here and the pleasant experience of dealing with CAG, I was happy to bring them my business. I left a happy camper. Always a nice feeling to support good honest people who treat you right.

I also decided to walk over to 24th St rather than wait onsite. There are foot paths that connect the two areas. They do take you past some homeless encampments but there were other pedestrians and cyclists around so it felt safe enough and I had no issues.

  • *****

Best price around. Others quoted around $200 + tax. Cascade did it for $150 flat.

Excellent service. They vacuumed up all the little bits of glass from the break in, and did a great job at it..

Very fast. I arrived at 2:30 on a weekday and they were slamming. I had called ahead, and they said it would take about one and a half hours. I was driving away 45 minutes after I pulled into the place.

  • *****

I'm so happy with these folks! My friend's car window got smashed yesterday. We called around. This highest price I was quoted by a mobile repair service was $330, and another place wanted to charge $239 and would have to make us wait a few hours while the window was delivered.

California Auto Glass did the job for just $185, and they got it done in just an hour! Thank you, California Auto Glass, y'all are lifesavers!

  • *****

When my car got broken in to, California Auto Glass 1) could fix them the same day, 2) was a quarter of the price anyone else quoted, and 3) a year later the windows are still in shape and looking good. Their location is a bit of a trek and in the middle of nowhere but it's totally worth it.

  • *****

I needed a side mirror replaced in a very old car, and they didn't have the exact one in stock. They fit my car with a temporary almost-fitting mirror so I could drive away that same day, and replaced it with the exact fit a day later. Couldn't be happier with their service.

  • *****

    Lucy thank you!
This place is awesome. They're efficient, quick and so helpful!
I woke up to a broken drivers side mirror, and they were able to take me in right away. No problem! I would recommend all my friends and family to this place.

  • *****

    $5 fee for credit! :(

Place is a wacky location. But, good work!

Cleaned out all the smashed glass. And washed the new window.

A good price. Done while I waited.

Gave me a bottle of cool watch on a very hot day. I passed a tamale.

  • *****

After some initial mis-communication, Dario made things right and had me in and out within an hour.

The customer service here is impeccable and I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Great work!

  • *****

This place is an experience. The carwashers are rude and pushy on occasion, and it isn't terribly organized, but they fixed my window. They reshaped the bent, scraped frame. They did it relatively quickly. And they did it for CHEAP. Like, I was quoted $190 elsewhere, they quoted me $100, and ended up finding a used window and only charging me $85. If you don't care about frills, go here. It was solid, the dude helping me was very helpful and considerate, and they did a great job. I have recommended it and will continue to do so.

  • *****

I've had windows replaced here and also by a brand name mobile repair service.

California Auto Glass beat out the mobile repair service on:
    (a) price;
    (b) friendliness;
    (c) speed; and
    (d) technical skill*

*California Auto Glass got all of the broken glass out of the door (unlike the prior mobile service)

Don't use a mobile repair service. Go here. The place is ghetto, but you'll be happy with the work they do.

  • *****

Great customer service, extremely fast, and did really quality work. They gave me the option of a used piece of glass to save money, which I appreciated.

  • *****

This is the second time I've gotten my car broken into in SF. It is easy for these auto glass businesses to feel like heroes after such incidents. Aside from that feeling they are the kind of family business you want to patronize. They were courteous, and able to take in my car within 10 minutes of my call. That offered an upstairs waiting room that felt like the family room I grew up in with friendly kids watching T.V, crucifixes against the wall, and friend clutter scattered in an organized way. This was a good thing. It felt like home. One of the children even showed up with home-made carnitas to help make my wait feel more comfortable. Feeling surrounded by family is exactly what helps awful situations be better. The owners also gave me several options--new or used glass--that other dealers weren't able to do. I saved money, got my car fixed, and was treated with the comfort I needed today. Thanks, CA Auto Glass.

Note: If you plan on using a credit card, there's a $5 surcharge. So, be prepared for that.

Several days ago, someone smashed my car window and I had to change it. The workers cleaned up all the glasses inside my car and inside of door. They are kind and perfectly done with it. Owner said, they guarantee theirs service and if I have problem with it, anytime visit here.
Today, I found that still some of glasses inside my car door and I visited here one more time. They checked my door and quickly removed all of the pieces.
    I satisfied their service.

In a neighborhood with much nicer-looking cars, someone broke the front, driver's side window on my '91 Honda Civic. They even opened the trunk, but they walked away with nothing because I didn't even have spare change in the car.

I called around, and it seemed like the going price was $160-180. Some of the reviews here mentioned that California Auto Glass had remarkably low prices, so I decided to just go there and see. As it turned out, they wanted only $110, installed, tax included, so I said yes. I waited in their upstairs waiting room, and barely 40 minutes later, my car was done.

Don't be put off by the neighborhood's reputation.

  • *****

After confirming on the phone that they had the glass I needed and after making us wait a half hour at their shop they told us that they don't have the glass (window). However the guy was friendly.

  • *****

Fast, affordable, friendly service. Getting your car broken into sucks, but at least California Auto Glass makes it easy to clean up the aftermath. I really appreciated the extra effort they went through to clean up all of the broken glass under the floor mats, in vents, etc. They gave me a free tamale too!

I hope I don't have to come back, but would highly recommend to others!

  • *****

Had a quarter panel window replaced on my Prius. I got a used one from this shop. It was a lot cheaper than other shops plus they were super fast. If and when my car window gets vandalized again in SF, I'm coming back to this shop. They are super awesome! Inexpensive and fast!

  • *****

I'm so thankful for these guys, I've become quite the regular here! They are fast, affordable and a so very kind! Having broken windows is never fun but they always put me at ease! I highly recommend them, best customer service!!! Thanks a million.

  • *****

Car window was shattered Fri evening and I woke up early to call around to see who would offer the cheapest price. I think I called 10 places and this place offered the best price. Went in, and within the hour, got a free vacuuming and window replaced. Simple, quick and best price. Does it get better than that?

  • *****

This is my second trip to CAG thanks to random window smashing in The city. Eventually I'll go car-less but until then I will always come back to these guys. They are lovely, quick, fairly priced and waiting on site for an hour is no problem when they've got wifi upstairs! Thank you guys!

  • *****

These guys are great. They stand behind their work no questions asked! Fast and very friendly service. And their prices are extremely reasonable. I'd recommend California Auto Glass to anyone and I'll be a return customer if I ever need a window replacement again. Thanks guys!

  • *****

This place is awesome! My car got broken into late last night (on a rainy night no less! Thanks, mean window breaker person!). I contacted one place that was near where I live. They gave us a quote, but didn't have the window in stock and wanted me to call back tomorrow after 8am. I wanted my window fixed TODAY, so I looked for another place and saw that California Auto Glass is open on Sundays! I called in and got a quote over the phone for $25.00 less than the other company's "discounted" priced, AND they had the window in stock and could see me today!

The location is a little funky. OK! A LOT funky! But the people there are so nice! Great customer service! I had cut my finger on a piece of the broken glass, so one guy (didn't catch anybody's names!) told us that we could wait in their waiting room (with free wifi and a TV) while he looked for a band aid. We found the waiting room... complete with picnic table and crucifixes (crucifi?)! Beautiful birds in the hallway squawked! Totally funky and not all that comfy, but the nice guy brought me the band aid and then offered us coffee, tea, or TAMALES! DAMMIT! We'd just eaten lunch, so we turned down FREE TAMALES!

Anywho... about an hour later, the car was ready! They vacuumed up all of the broken glass and got the car back in order! Great, speedy work!

Hopefully, I'll never need to use them again! But if I do, I'm not eating first!

  • *****

The decor may be a bit rough, but they did a fantastic job replacing a smashed window. Cleaned up all the broken glass and installed the window in less than an hour on a Sunday. About $40 cheaper than another quote nearby. Feel very fortunate to have found them.

  • *****

Small family business. Call a couple company, California auto glass is available for fixing right away on a Saturday 2pm, other companies need to wait till Monday or Sunday. My farmers insurance negotiate with them, and they work out pretty fast.

  • *****

Good service, they had me in-and-out in less than an hour. The price was very reasonable ($40 for labor - opened the door, tightened screws etc)

Location is a bit funky, but great people

  • *****

Quick, as in 50 min. Best price around. They have a waiting room and offer free water, coffee, and tamales (if they have some). The guy vacuumed my whole car too. Which was nice cuz my car was naaasty. There's a hole in the wall restaurant next door. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing place, but that doesn't really matter to me.

  • *****

You're probably reading this because your car had been broken into and you need a quick window repair. Look no further, CALIFORNIA AUTO GLASS is here! I say this because I went to another auto glass shop down the street from here and their price was almost double the price from what I paid here at CALIFORNIA AUTO GLASS. First of all, the service here is SUPERB! I had a great conversation with one of the mechanics and with Lucy, the nice lady who deals with quotes and payments. I HIGHLY recommend that you come here when you need a repair for your car window. GREAT PRICES AND GREAT SERVICE! THANK YOU CALIFORNIA AUTO GLASS!!!

  • *****

    Great people
    Just fixed my broken window
    Fast and good service
The cheapest I Find in sf

  • *****

Unfortunately, my car gets broken into all the time, so I have become a frequent customer here. They have the best prices in town - believe me, I have checked. They also always fit me in same day, just turn up, and in 2-3 hours the job is done

  • *****

They were very professional. Ordered my window Thursday came in on Friday. Got my windshield fixed by Saturday. They estimated two hours, I went in 1030 and called them around 1230 to check up on my vehicle which was done. He advised me before he left if they had not called in two hours to call them. Picked it up with cash due to the reviews of an estimated 5$ tax for debit/ credit users. And was out the door. Two thumbs up

  • *****

These guys were fast and cheap. They had quite a long line of customers when I got there and they managed to finish my window in about an hour for the cheapest price out of all the places I've called.

  • *****

I called to ask for a new windshield. They gave me a price over the phone. I took my car around 1:50pm. I was the 4th car in line and still got out by 3:00pm. They were really nice, quick and skilled. I was surprised when they asked me I could wait in waiting room upstairs. I really liked the lay back environment in this place. They stick to the price and NO sloppy job here. It was done correctly. Enjoy

  • *****

My front right window was completely shattered.. I was grateful I found this place that was open on a Sunday. I'm very satisfied with how much I paid. Got three different quotes and it was by far the cheapest. The employees were very nice. Interesting setup for a waiting room. But I definitely would recommend coming here to get your Auto Glass replaced.

It's incredibly frustrating to get your car broken into, but the people at California Auto Glass make it as painless as possible. These guys are amazing! I've had my window broken into twice now and both times I went to California Auto Glass and they were great! They have a waiting room with wifi which was awesome so I could get work done while they fixed it. They were super efficient and helpful and vacuumed the entire car when finished. Cost was 155$ for my rear window. Definitely go to California Auto Glass if you need a quick, well done, easy fix.

Living in San Francisco, I have had broken windows replaced several times now; 11 to be exact. The last 5 times has been with California Auto Glass. Each and every time they are honest, friendly, and fast. On Monday, April 24th, I returned to have yet another broken out window replaced. They didn't have the glass in stock but ordered it and requested I return in a few hours. I returned as requested for us both to discover that their vendor delivered the wrong glass. I was told the glass they need wasn't available from any of their vendors until Wednesday, April 26th. They apologized profusely for their vendor's mistake and gave me a significant discount to return on Wednesday for the installation. They even patched up my missing window using thick cardboard and secured it with an incredible tape job. I returned today just after noon. The glass was there and they installed it within 20 minutes. These folks are great. I highly recommend them. Kudos, California Auto Glass!

  • *****

This place has incredible service and reasonable prices. They saw us same day, and even gave us food while we waited. Homemade tacos and grilled oysters! The place may seem a little sketch but we had no issues.

Thank you to all the incredible staff who turned a really unfortunate morning into a great one! I will be coming here from now on for whatever car issues they can fix!

  • *****

Great service, super fast and best price in town. My window was smashed, they were able to replace same day at lowest price I found.

This place is great. Best prices and has certain characteristics that make it unique (like the exotic birds outside of the upstairs waiting room).
Good friendly people. Good service. Good prices.

I had the unfortunate experience of getting my car broken into on the hottest day of the year, and my boyfriend looked them up on yelp. Super quick, easy service and it took under an hour for them to repair my right rear window. There is a waiting room upstairs with wifi and a few fast food joints area if you don't want to wait at the repair shop. Overall, 5 stars for the quick, painless experience and great prices!

My friend's car's window was smashed this morning by some elementary petty theft who couldn't even break open the window. Like damn..if you're going to damage the window, at least don't half ass it. PMO. It left an impact and when she opened the door, the screen shattered entirely and glass went everywhere. We filed a police report and then I started calling places on Yelp for the best rates.

California Auto Glass was the only one who could take us on this day and that offered the best rate for the window. On this ridiculously hot day, we were able to drive in and give the car over to be fixed. We were able to get a rate of $190 for her front driver window, but ended up getting her front window and driver seat window for $400, which is supposedly a good rate for market. When you drive into the lot, it does look a little run-down and shady, but I doubt it makes sense to upkeep the area when you really just need to focus on expertise and efficiency. Also, there is a $5 credit and debit card fee, so pay with cash if you want to avoid that fee. But really..who carries hundreds of $$ around in cash?

TONS of cars had been broken into today. Like someone decided it was a ridiculously hot day and so they must break into cars to make people more miserable. Best thing I can say is to make sure you don't leave things in your car, even if it's a sweater, bag, or etc. that might look like you're hiding something underneath.

  • *****

This place was recommended to me by a stranger who walked past me while I was brushing the broken glass from my shattered passenger front side car window. I drove up on a Thursday at 1:30p and had a newly installed window by 2:15p. No line and they had a window for my Honda Fit in-stock. Nice, fast, friendly service with a reasonable price tag for what had been an unwanted and unexpected expense. Plus, the new window seems to be working better than the original. I'm incredibly pleased with my experience.

  • *****

Come here! Best price & quick. Don't let looks fool you they are very professional and friendly. Finished my car in less than an hour

  • *****

Extremely kind and competent people. The replaced my window the same day. When you call make sure you know the make, model year and describe accurately which window it is that true for any autoglass replacement. They finished early and they also charged the best price around. Very affordable and a good local business.
Like others have remarked don't let the looks fool you they are small but serious and competent.

  • *****

This is a very well run place. I've only come for getting broken windows fixed (unfortunately). But they seem to have an amazing detailing program. Many shiny & beautiful cars coming out.

They are also fast at fixing my broken window.

    Thank you!

Living in the Mission District can be a blessing and a curse. But when we start talking about cars? Forget it, you're better off taking public transportation. I made the wrong decision and bought a car. Now all I do is take 30 min to look for parking. And once I find parking, wake up to move it just to see a broken window. I've had three broken windows in a span of 8 months. But the homies right here gave me the best price when compared to what other auto shops were offering me for the repair. It was quick, and simple. Definitely come by and get your window repaired here.

  • *****

It looks rough but these guys do a good job for the best price with quality glass. Was very picky when it came to replacing a broken trunk window on my brand new Chevy and the look of the place made me hesitant but they're legit. Hopefully I never break another window but if I do I'm coming straight back here.

  • *****

I've used California Auto Glass personally and for my taxi fleet for over ten years. No reason to go anywhere else. Fast and great prices.

  • *****

Amazing service! Someone broke my Prius's rear passenger window last night and did a lot of research and price comparisons and these guys literally saved me $100 compared to other estimates. They also did it same day with almost no wait time and even vacuumed and cleaned up the broken glass on my car. What's great is that there is a mexican restaurant with great food to eat while waiting for the repair. All in all very satisfied and recommend this place if your looking for great service while also not being overcharged like most places typically do.

  • *****

It's good place for installation of the auto glass. friendly and faster service .I like

  • *****

This place is kooky, but awesome! They quoted about $25.00 below a competitor's "discounted" price, AND they had the window in stock and could fix it while we waited! The waiting room is a little funky, but they offered us coffee, tea, and TAMALES! Great service, great pricing, kooky facilities... Hopefully, I won't have to use them again, but definitely would if I needed to!

My car was broken into and they were able to get me in and on the road in only a few hours. On a Sunday, no less, when practically every other auto glass shop was closed. The employees were very kind and did a great job with my car. Overall very pleased with my visit, despite the circumstances.

  • *****

Got me in and out within 45 minutes, cheapest price around, and managed to get it done before the rain started!

    window
The location is a bit unusual... located in a car wash parking lot. I waited probably an hour before my window was replaced and the cost.... 30% cheaper than quoted by other shops! The window bracket actually broke on the way home so I called Luis... he said to bring it back the next day and he'll get me a new window.

  • *****

    Fast easy cheap.

  • *****

Believe every 3 out of 3 review for this business. They more than met my expectations. Fast, friendly, and affordable. Can't recommend them enough.

  • *****

I was so happy with this place. They replaced my passenger window for $100 (my car has been broken into multiple times and I have always paid $250-$300 for this) in less than 30 minutes. I didn't even make an appointment. AND they were nice. AND they have good Mexican food you can buy and sit outside and eat while you wait. I am recommending it to all my friends whose cars are getting broken into....3 this week! What is going on? Is the economy to blame?

  • *****

Good price, fast, honest and friendly, open on sunday too. High recommend to my friends, family and you! A++++++!

They really go the extra mile here. Good old fashioned service you don't see too much anymore. They are very honest cheap and polite.

Great price and quality work. Honest too. I left 100.00 in center compartment without thinking and it was still there when picked up my car.

  • *****

It was the lowest of all auto glass places I checked, yet the work was fast and excellent, and the staff both friendly and honest (gave me money that had fallen under the seat) -- highly recommended!

  • *****

Very fast! Customer service was great, the whole crew is very nice and helpful. They do a great job. They are hard to find because there is no official building, but SF weather is beautiful so who cares :) DEFINITELY recommend them.

Had a rear door window broken into...in the rain... and these guys repaired it on the spot for less than 1/3rd of the price of Honda dealer. Looks great. Cleaned up my car nicely. Very happy.
